Endodontics

For several years, endodontics was the only alternative to save a tooth or molar when it was seriously damaged or painful. Some people still refer to this process as killing the nerve or removing the nerve from a molar, although it is much more than that.

Despite advancements in implantology, endodontics remains the preferred option for preserving teeth that can last for years. Sometimes, it is applied to healthy teeth to relieve pain caused by severe dental sensitivity.

Some of the most common symptoms that may indicate the need for endodontics are:

  • Pain
  • Prolonged sensitivity to heat or cold
  • Sensitivity while chewing or touching
  • Swelling of the gums and discoloration

What types of endodontics exist?

  • Single-rooted endodontics
  • Double-rooted endodontics
  • Multiple-rooted endodontics
